C J Martin is an English singer songwriter. He played in bands with friends from the age of 16. In 1988, after purchasing a Tascam Portastudio, he started writing and recording his own songs.
He has been on a song-writing journey ever since and has spent many hours in recording studios, using the developing technologies to explore his musical ideas.
His influences are many, including a love for Americana, classical music and British rock. His musical taste and style is so broad that it doesn't really belong to any specific music genre. A love of words enables him to explore an extremely wide-ranging mix of subjects in his own unique way.
A passion for live performance, with just acoustic guitar and voice allows him to balance the technology offered in modern recording studios, with the simple desire of just presenting his songs in the raw.

October 2026: The story in a song, of my 8-day road trip in the USA with my brother, Ian - see video above.
The world may be in a strange place, but we had a wonderful time.
Starting in Boston, we then drove down to New York, via Hartford and Mystic, for 4 fantastic days in the city that never sleeps.
Back on the road, for a beautiful drive out through Vermont, with the autumn (Fall) colours putting on their magic show.
In Rutland, we saw, Hot Tuna deliver their music and memories going back to the 60's.
And in the morning, I met Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen, (who were in the same hotel as us) for a chat.
Home via Salem.
Thanks Ian, Jorma & Jack (Hot Tuna) and thank you America

07/03/26 - Instrumentals 2 -
I love writing short instrumentals using GarageBand on my iPad. I can take it with me on holiday and enjoy the environment, whilst coming up with little ditties. I've put another 20 of them on this second album of GB instrumentals. It's good fun working with the sounds and grooves.
